About
David Halbout learned the art of furniture making in the family business in France at the age of 10. In his work, he translates his customer's dream of perfect furniture by working closely with them. He draws, sketches, creates 3D models. French Fix stands out from others because David is an artist who designs and creates unique furniture. Every day he commits to working in sustainability and respect of the environment. He is working with a range of natural finishes and non-toxic when cured.
David shares his passion for design with his students at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
Nathalie d’Iris is a textile artist of French Ukrainian origin. She creates original knits, garments, and one-of-a-kind prints with Earth-provided ingredients (array of flowers and onion skins among many others). Her fascination with textiles started at the age of eight when she was watching her grandmother knit and sew. It is her grandmother who took her through the seemingly endless museum and nature trips during her family’s travels between Paris and Kiev.
In her works, she uses hypoallergenic natural fibers: cotton, linen, wool, mohair, and silk. Most of the dyes she grows in her organic garden in her now home: Red Bank, NJ.
